Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) project for Route 10 in Chesterfield County required 136 LF of Single Precast 8’x5’ Box Culvert in a Quad Line (Four Cells.) Because there would be less that 2’ of fill over the box culvert, VDOT required the use of Corrosion Resistant Reinforcing (CRR) steel. The layout also required 30 degree skewed end sections with precast wing walls. The Hanover Facility produced the 84 pieces using their drycast concrete (similar to their large diameter pipe production,) while the Salem Facility produced the skewed end sections and wing walls.
